Cybersecurity is the protection of our data in the digital space, such as our personal information, banking details, documents, or photos.
Within our cybersecurity, we must consider three factors that together guarantee defense against cyberattacks, which are becoming more frequent today.
- Confidentiality: This means we must keep all important account details secret and limit the sharing of information to only necessary personnel in the case of business matters, and only to ourselves in the case of personal matters or a trusted family member.
- Integrity: Ensuring that the information is what it should be and that no one has inserted, modified, or deleted anything without our consent.
- Access: Ensuring that we can access your information and systems when you need us to.

Global cyber threats continue to develop at a rapid pace, with an increasing number of data breaches each year. A report by RiskBased Security revealed that an alarming 7.9 billion records were exposed by data breaches in the first nine months of 2019 alone. This figure is more than double (112%) the number of records exposed in the same period during 2018.
The International Data Corporation predicts that global spending on cybersecurity solutions will reach an impressive $133.7 billion by 2022.

You can reduce the likelihood of a web attack on your computers by taking steps to reduce your exposure to threats that could pose a risk to your devices, such as:
- Create backup copies of all our information on external drives separate from our devices.
- Have "good habits" when browsing the web, avoid visiting sites of dubious origin or that violate network rules, and do not click on unexpected links or attachments, as they may contain "viruses" that seek to harm us.
- Always stay up to date, keep our operating systems updated with the latest updates, and constantly review them to stay abreast of any attempts to breach our data.
- Passwords should be increasingly secure, using different symbols and at least 14 characters, and you should always try to use a unique password for each page.
- Enable authentication in at least two ways. Some of the latest updates that we can now have on practically any platform enable two-step authentication, either through text messages or calls to your cell phone number, sending access codes by email, among others.
- Having antivirus software on our devices that is constantly helping us to counter any attempted attacks.
