On May 4, Star Wars Day, Apple released a three-minute commercial called "Find Your Friends" to celebrate the iconic date.
Produced in-house by Apple and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Kim Gehrig, the commercial follows a young man dressed as a Mandalorian, played by Owen Jardiniano, as he searches for his friends at a Star Wars convention with the help of his iPhone.
The ad, filled with Star Wars action and memories, highlights the iPhone's features, especially the "Precision Search" function, which is useful at crowded conventions. To this end, 172 Star Wars fans participated in the filming, reflecting Apple's commitment to the fan community.
Apple collaborated with Skywalker Ranch on the sound design, and the theme song, "All My Friends," was adapted with reference to the 501st Legion.
The commercial was made entirely with real fans of the saga. To do this, Apple took on the task of recruiting hundreds of Star Wars fans to participate in a very special ad to mark May the 4th.
What the announcement consists of
It all starts with a Star Wars fan dressed as a Mandalorian, who has a pet named Leia (how much more of a fan can you get?). He leaves her some food before leaving home armed with his iPhone 15 to go to a convention (like CCXP), where he will see his friends.
The trip goes by like a normal day in any city: you stop by a coffee shop, use public transportation, and walk several blocks to get there. The problem is that once you arrive, all you see are more people in costume. And since all your friends are also dressed as Mandalorians, it's impossible to tell who's who with those characters' distinctive helmets.

Star Wars truck
That's where the ad comes in: How do you find your friends? Apple's idea behind launching this commercial on May 4th is to announce itsPrecision Finding featurefor locating people, but what it actually does is tell you where to go to meet up with a friend.

Using GPS
Without a doubt, the iPhone app does its job and the meeting is a complete success. It's a real treat for marketers, with different bullet points providing more specific details about the series.
True fans participate in Apple's ad
The real hallmark of this ad is that it was made with pure Star Wars fans. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lucasfilm worked with 172 fans of the saga, with Owen Jardiniano starring in the commercial, which really adds a huge bonus to this work.

Wars
Without a doubt, Apple continues to lead the way in technological advances, and with this new commercial, they have scored an important victory against their competitors, as it features their excellent product and one of the most iconic films of all time.
Thus exploiting its potential twice over.

In this production, they make clear the reason for their success, since they have worked hard and left everything ready with the intention of making an impact and capturing the loyal fans of their product, in addition to doing so with Star Wars, which is undoubtedly a bet on the future, given that there are a huge number of Star Wars fans.

This idea of collaboration is not new, as Apple and Kim Gehring worked together on the successful commercial "The Greatest." Tor Myhren, Apple's vice president of marketing and communications, describes the ad as a declaration of love to Star Wars fans, highlighting Gehring's ability to bring charm and lightness to film projects like this one.
